Youtube gets tough on mp3 conversion site.

YouTube’s parent company, Google, has apparently decided to get tough against YouTube-MP3.org. The site has been offering its users a service that allows them to strip and convert audio from YouTube videos to create playable MP3 files. According to YouTube this violates their terms and conditions and therefore must stop. So therefore the rumor is that Google has sent a cease-and-desist order to YouTube-MP3.org, giving them a 7 day deadline to comply.
In a quote from YouTube-MP3.org’s owner who refers to himself only as Phillip, it is alleged that YouTube has now blocked his company’s servers. They have also apparently blocked tens of millions of users who are members of the MP3 conversion site. Phillip also complained that YouTube seems to be ignoring the millions of other MP3 conversion sites that do the same thing and that YouTube is trying to criminalize the practice. Some feel this is an attempt by YouTube to prove that their site does not promote piracy of any kind, something it has been accused of in the past.
