Android users beware.

If you have an Android and you want to set up Skype on it then be careful because cybercriminals are using a fake app to steal from you. Apparently a fake Skype app for Android, which is actually a malware, is being touted around the web by criminals. If you were to accidentally download this app what would happen is that premium rate text messages will be sent from your phone. This accrues revenue for the criminals and jacks up your phone bill.
The fake Skype is apparently not very good and stands out because it is a .jar file not an .apk as it should be. It also originates from a Nigerian domain so if you see (.ne) avoid that download. Experts however are saying that consumers should use the Google Play Store when downloading apps like Skype because they do not allow these non-legitimate fakes.
